[Note: It may seem that a discussion like the one below would be self-evident and therefore unnecessary and superfluous--but in these last times, there are people who actually think that they can question, correct, and ignore the Bible and still be considered Christians. This lamentable, grievous group may well include most of today's professed Christians.]A Truly Biblical Faith
A truly Biblical faith consists of believing the Bible (Authorised Version) just as it is written without adding to it or subtracting from it. The Bible tells us that God hath magnified his word above all his name (ref. Psalm 138:2)--his word has an highly exalted status. A person with a truly Biblical faith has the Bible as the starting and ending point of all thinking. He is already knows that the Bible is true and that is settled in his soul. No one has to fight with him to believe it. For him anything that contradicts the Bible is lie no matter who told the lie--father, mother, preacher, professor, doctor, etc. He know that the only way to know the truth is through the word of God, the Bible. Jesus said to the Father, "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy WORD is truth."
Some people say that they worship God and in the same breath they say that they do not believe the whole Bible. Or perhaps that there are things in the Bible that they disagree with. Maybe they want to add doctrines to it like Mary worship. It doesn't work like that--you take the whole Bible as it is written or you reject it. The Bible says that God has magnified His word above all His name! If you want to know the truth, the Bible is where you find it. God rejects all false worship for it is based on a lie and "no lie is of the truth" (ref. I John 2:21). The Bible teaches us that Jesus Christ is the Word of God (ref. Revelation 19:13). I make no distinction between God and his word. False prophets are abounding in this earth and they are confusing people that listen to them and those same people go out and teach the same lies and blasphemies that they learned in "church" and "Bible college". My words and me are the same. The words that I speak and write are actually me communicating. You don't separate yourself from what you say like you are two different entitites. The Bible is the word of God and someone with a Biblical faith always believes God regardless of what even their own feelings and desires may say.
In order to know our Creator, Jesus Christ, we start with the basic assumption that the Holy Bible is truly the word of God. It is the only way that we can even know Jesus. His name has been introduced to the world by the Bible, not any other document. His life is found in the Bible. There is no other way to know the name of Jesus and his true gospel other than through the Bible. No real Christian will kick the Bible to the curb. It is THE source of truth--How do I know that sodomy is wrong? The Bible. How do I know that stealing is wrong? The Bible. How do I know that murder is wrong? The Bible. How do I know adultery and lying are wrong? The Bible. For the true Christian, there is none of this "make-up-the-rules-as-you-go." The rules are found in the Holy Bible (the Authorised Version, not some perversion of God's word). God is holy and He has set forth, for the world to see, a complete and inerrant record of His requirements--in the Authorised Version of the Bible.
We will be judged by the Bible--
John 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.For the scoffers out there, it is totally reasonable to put faith in God and the Bible. You put your faith in man all the time. When you go to school and the teacher passes out your math textbook, you do not question the veracity of its contents, you simply have faith that the author knew what he was doing. You don't go picking apart every syllable and trying to rise up against the author. You take his word for it (and many times you really shouldn't. People tell a lot of lies.) A Bible-believing Christian, on the other hand, places faith in the word of God. The Lord Jesus Christ is trustworthy. He made us. He is our Creator. He is gracious, kind, and all-knowing. He is all-powerful. He is a strong tower. The Bible was the first book ever printed on a printing press. To this day, it is the most read, the most translated, the most awesome book in the world.
For the cultist and pretend Christians, a last warning: the Lord Jesus will not accept worship based on a lie such as Catholicism, Russellism (Jehovah's Witness), Mormonism, Buddhism, etc. for, "...the true worshippers SHALL worship the Father is spirit and in TRUTH: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him MUST worship him in spirit and in TRUTH." (John 4:23-24).
